Testimonials

50 apartment retirement community with onsite dining facilities, full social calendar and close to all the town centre, public transport and local amenities

"As the years progress and parents start to feel the passage of time and become less able to carry on the life style that they have grown accustomed to over many years, difficult choices have to be made. The acceptance that they can’t continue to live the way they used to as they brought up families and worked hard for a living, is difficult to achieve and has to be made.

My parents, after recent set backs, decided that after 57 years they needed to make a change to their life style. For their peace of mind and for the family it was decided to purchase an apartment at Ashby Court, enabling them to keep their independence but to have the support and security provided by the management and the set up at Ashby Court. One of the most important things for my father was the fact that they were purchasing and would be the owners of the apartment and therefore saw it as an investment.

The services provided include provision of meals on a daily basis, 24/7 on site cover, cleaning, maintenance and general upkeep and a sense of community. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and enables people to integrate to whatever degree they wish at the many events arranged by the Court. The apartments are spacious and well laid out and so much more practical than maintaining older properties. All the above confirms that it was the right decision to relocate my parents, giving us the opportunity to spend more time with them in their later years."

"Moving into Ashby Court was the best decision that could have been made for my mother.

The whole process was very easy and continuing to own her own property was an attraction. The peace of mind knowing that there is someone around 24/7 has been great for the rest of the family. For my mother, she has benefited enormously from the companionship offered by the fellow owners to the extent that she is rarely found in her own apartment.

On a daily basis she benefits from coffee and tea in the lounge and invariably books a lunch. The wonderful, friendly staff organise and run regular activities and outings. Although she was initially reluctant to move from her existing bungalow she now wishes that she had moved years ago."

"The best idea we ever had was to downsize whilst we were still able to cope with the move.

There are regular activities each week and special events monthly or if you'd rather stay in your apartment that's fine but you will be missing much. I consider Ashby Court owners one of my three families namely, my blood family and church family. There are NO door to door salesmen to worry you. The postman and paper boy deliver [sic] to your own front door.

Steve, our handyman will change that light bulb and such jobs for you. Housekeeping assistants clean your home weekly and windows are cleaned regularly so you can enjoy a hassle free retirement here at Ashby Court.."

"I was originally in full support of my parents purchase of a self-contained apartment at Ashby Court in Hinckley. Its location is great as it is a short walk to the supermarket and local shop, and a 20 minute into Hinckley town centre (or a short bus with the bus stop just outside Ashby Court or taxi ride). The staff seemed cheery and helpful.

Some years on and the reality has proved even better than our anticipation. All the staff are so lovely, helpful and professional. And knowing someone is on site 24/7 is a real comfort both to my parents and to me.

You can use the on site laundry, have dinner in the dining room, join in social club activities etc - or choose not to.  It’s all there for when you want, or need it.

As owners at Ashby Court you can have full independence with a safety net."

"Our mother was struggling with living in her bungalow on her own but was keen for any move to allow her to keep some degree of independence. It was also important for her to have the opportunity to attend regular social events and have regular lunches with other residents in a dining room.

Ashby Court was able to offer a reasonable degree of independent living, whilst offering the benefits of sheltered accommodation such as in house warden support and emergency call points in all rooms.

She has been very happy at Ashby Court and found the team to be professional, caring and very friendly - a home from home. She only left when she needed more intensive care 24/7 in a Nursing Home as her health deteriorated, but still misses Ashby Court."
