About us:
We are an independent living complex which comprises of Fifty, one- and two-bedroom apartments for those over the age of 55, who can live independently with a little support from staff who are on site 24 hours a day, should they need us.
We have a very active Social Calendar, with something on almost daily. Weekly events include Bingo, Keep Fit and Film Night. Others include Seasonal evening events, and music nights to name but a few.
We are unique in that we are run by Owners, for our Owners. We are a not-for-profit company.
What we are looking for:
- Within this Community setting the role of the Duty Manager is responsible for the safe and smooth operation of the Court during their shift.
- You must balance your administrative duties, with a visible hands-on presence.
- You must manage the day to day running of the Court and ensure all emergency operating procedures are followed, along with compliance of all Health and Safety and Fire Risk Management.
- Oversee the security process that controls access to the building, ensuring all visitors and contractors follow Court procedures and meet standards of behaviour.
- You need to manage the House Keeping Assistants to ensure the Owners are receiving high standards of cleaning within their apartment.
- In addition to manage the Cook(s) to ensure high standards of food are served in the Dining Room.
- You need to ensure the dignity and independence of Owners are always upheld.
- Whilst on shift you are the primary point of contact for family members, healthcare professionals and external contractors.
- You will need to help co-ordinate and facilitate Social Activities within the Court.
- You will need to possess exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to ‘think on your feet’, remaining calm under pressure whilst dealing with an operational or medical emergency.
- Record keeping is of paramount importance.
- No formal Care qualifications are required as we are not CQC registered.
- The Contracted hours are 19.6 per week over a five-week period.
- The hourly rate at present is £15.37.
- We pay a flat nightly sleep in allowance; at present this is £45 per night.
- Both rates increase annually on the 1 st of April.
